Meet the Teacher Night

We invite all JCS parents to Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday September 15, 2026. Doors open at 6:15 pm followed by a quick High School 101 presentation in the Main Gym at 6:30 pm. We will run a regular timetable beginning at 6:50 pm, so please bring your student with you to guide you through their daily schedule. For more information, please see the Meet the Teacher Invite on the JCS Website.

Language Course Challenges

The CBE offers high school students the opportunity to earn high school credits for a language they already know. This is a two-part assessment process.  Students will show what they can do in the language by completing:

Part 1: Portfolio

Part 2: Course Challenge Exam

If you successfully complete the process, you receive a final mark and credits for the 30-level course. You may also receive credits for the 10- and 20-level courses, if applicable.

Student Information Meeting: Tuesday, September 16 at lunch in LC2

For the registration form and more information about language course challenges, please review CBE French & Second Languages Course Challenge Guide.

The deadline to submit your registration to the school for a language course challenge is Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Send completed registration forms to: Mr. Kennedy (btkennedy@cbe.ab.ca) and Ms. Gavan (segavan@cbe.ab.ca).

November Diploma Exams

Did your student take a summer school diploma course (30-level) but miss the diploma exam this summer? Please have them connect with Mr. Brown (rabrown@cbe.ab.ca) via email or in the main office to request a seat in that November Diploma Exam. The dates are found on the Alberta Education 2026-27 Diploma Exam Calendar.
