New Staff
JCS is excited to welcome Maham Baig and Brendan Ingle to the JCS staff! Maham will be working in the English Language Arts department, supporting our teachers in that busy department with literacy goals. Brendan is our new Educational Assistant supporting students with additional and complex learning needs. JCS is still working on hiring the new teacher for the class size and complexity funding previously announced.
January Diploma Exams
If your student is taking a diploma course online (30-level core course with CBe-Learn or other school jurisdictions), they must request a seat in the January diploma exam sittings here at JCS. Students need to email Mr. Brown or come see Ms. Taylor in the main office to request their seat. This needs to be completed before October 30, 2026. Note: this does not apply to students taking in-person diploma courses here at JCS.
Student Grad Committee Fundraiser
The JCS Student Grad Committee 2027 is fundraising for one (or two!) photo booths for this year's graduation banquet. We will be selling freshly roasted coffee beans, loose leaf tea, and delicious scoop and bake cookie dough.
Our fundraiser will run from October 8-30, 2026. You can purchase online at the JCS Indeygo Website. Pick-up will be scheduled 5-10 business after the end of the fundraiser, so stay tuned for a pick-up date!
IMPORTANT NOTE: to facilitate pick-up and sending the purchased items home with students, please include the FULL NAME of the JCS student you are connected to as well as their CURRENT GRADE in the "Who Helped You?" section at checkout
Thank you for your support of the Student Grad Committee!
Course Fees
All course fees are now posted in Student PowerSchool accounts. Please ensure that fees are paid in a timely manner. If parents are unable to pay fees, please see the CBE Fees and Waivers page for more information on applying for fee waivers.
If parents have questions about their student’s fees, please check their course outlines or email our business manager, Michelle Tremblay.
Unique Pathways Applications Open
Through CBE Unique Pathways, students can explore career interests, experience post-secondary learning, and earn post-secondary credits in some programs, all while still in high school! Applications for Semester 2 programs opened October 5, 2026 and must be submitted no later than November 20, 2026. Please email JCS’s Off-Campus Coordinator Russell Gelfand with questions or to submit an application.

Parent/Teacher interviews are on Monday October 19, 2026 from 9:00am-2:00pm online and Tuesday October 20, 2026 from 5:00-8:00pm in-person at the school.
