Congratulations Soccer and Volleyball

Congratulations to our Girls Soccer team for winning the Division 2 City Soccer Championship on Thursday and to our Sr. Girls Volleyball team for winning the Crescent Heights Invitational Tournament last weekend. Way to go Ravens!! Special congratulations also go out to Emmie S who represented JCS with class at the annual Volleyball Selects game on October 14 at Nelson Mandela High School.

Thank You to Parents

Thank you to all parents and guardians that attended the Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday. We value your participation as valued members of the learning teams supporting your students' education journies. A special thank you to all parents who donated food for the staff dinner, it was a fabulous turn out and greatly appreciated by staff.

YMCA Use by JCS Students

The Brooksfield Residential YMCA at Seton has implemented temporary restrictions to JCS student access until at least the end of December 2026. JCS Students may only enter the YMCA if they are:

·       Using their membership to access the facilities beyond the gate

·       Brought to the YMCA by a JCS teacher for class use

·       Utilizing the Calgary Public Library

·       Purchasing food or drink from Good Earth Café

·       Attending community outreach programming

Once students have completed these permitted activities, they are required to leave the premises immediately. Students loitering in or around the YMCA entrances, lobby, washrooms, or common areas during school hours and especially during the lunch period will be asked to leave the premises by YMCA staff.

These restrictions by the YMCA Director of Operations were deemed necessary to maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all YMCA members, staff, and patrons. The YMCA has been facing increased challenges recently due to students vaping, damaging property, and congregating in large groups in and around the facility.

Veterans Tribute Slideshow Submissions

Submit photos of loved ones for Inclusion in the JCS Remembrance Day Veterans Tribute Slideshow. Each year we include a slideshow in our Remembrance Day assemblies that honours the loved ones of our students and community members who have served in various capacities. Have a submission? Complete the form here. 

Submissions must be received by November 6, 2026 for inclusion in this year’s slideshow.

Student Grad Committee Fundraiser

The JCS Student Grad Committee 2027 is fundraising for one (or two!) photo booths for this year's graduation banquet. We will be selling freshly roasted coffee beans, loose leaf tea, and delicious scoop and bake cookie dough.

Our fundraiser will run from October 8-30. You can purchase online at the JCS Indeygo Website. Pick-up will be scheduled 5-10 business after the end of the fundraiser, so stay tuned for a pick-up date! 

IMPORTANT NOTE: to facilitate pick-up and sending the purchased items home with students, please include the FULL NAME of the JCS student you are connected to as well as their CURRENT GRADE in the "Who Helped You?" section at checkout.

Course Fees

All course fees are now posted in Student PowerSchool accounts. Please ensure that fees are paid in a timely manner. If parents are unable to pay fees, please see the CBE Fees and Waivers page for more information on applying for fee waivers.

If parents have questions about their student’s fees, please check their course outlines or email our business manager, Michelle Tremblay.

Unique Pathways Applications

Through CBE Unique Pathways, students can explore career interests, experience post-secondary learning, and earn post-secondary credits in some programs, all while still in high school! Applications for Semester 2 programs opened October 5, and must be submitted no later than November 20. Please email JCS’s Off-Campus Coordinator Russell Gelfand with questions or to submit an application.

Ordering High School Transcripts

Students who require official transcripts can order them through their MyPass Account.

Students can set-up a MyPass account independently from home, however, if you need help setting up your MyPass account, please see Ms. Higgins or your Student Advisor for assistance. Ordering transcripts through MyPass is quick and easy and can be done anytime once your account is set up.
