Alberta Education Assurance Survey
Each year Alberta Education conducts a survey of grade 10 students and their families. The Alberta Education Assurance Survey closes March 01, 2024. In January, parents/guardians of grade 10 students were mailed via Canada Post a survey package from Alberta Education that included a random access code to use when completing the survey online. Both student and parent surveys are anonymous, and the survey results are used at the system and school level to make evidence-informed decisions for school improvement.
More information on the Alberta Education Assurance Survey is available in this HERE.

If you would like to include your child in this portion of the video, please email them to jcsbabyvideos@gmail.com. If the file size is large you will likely need to download the Google Drive app and upload them to the drive. Once the video is uploaded, you can click on it, hit “share”, and share it to the previously mentioned email. We do not guarantee we will use every video we receive, but we will do our best. If you have any questions, please email us. Thank you for your support with this.

Information from the Student Success Centre
Every student at JCS is enrolled in the Student Success Centre (SSC) D2L shell. Lots of valuable information will be posted there. Students are encouraged to log in and keep up to date with the available information regarding post-secondary applications, university open houses and scholarships. Students should also review the monthly calendar where various upcoming post-secondary events will be posted.
Registration for 2024-2025
All current Grade 10 and 11 students have had a presentation regarding registering for next year’s courses. Both presentations are on the Student Success Centre D2L and were sent to families via Messenger. Students must submit a completed form to the Main Office and select their courses in the PowerSchool Portal to ensure they have classes for next year. The PowerSchool portal closes on February 22. If students have questions about next year’s course selections, the SSC will announce a date(s) and time(s) shortly when they can come to ask specific questions or if they require further clarification. Currently, the courses that students select in the PowerSchool Portal are only requests, they are not confirmed courses for next year.
Information regarding Summer School will be available in mid-April. Students can check the Student Success Centre D2L or the weekly Raven Post for registration information.
A student recruiter from the U of C will be here over the lunch hour in the Upper Hub on Thursday, March 14. Students are welcome to drop by and ask questions.
