Spirit Week

Next week we will host spirit week for the students and staff. Parents please encourage your students to participate as it really helps bring the JCS community together.

Monday November 17 | Pyjama Day
Tuesday November 18 | Duo Day (Dress up with a friend as a dynamic duo!)
Wednesday November 19 | Matching Set Day (Wear the same colour on top & bottom)
Thursday November 20 | Jersey Day (A classic!)
Friday November 21 | Clothing Colour Wars (G10 – Wear Gray, G11 – Wear White, G12 – Wear Black)

School Council and Parent Society Meetings

The next School Council and Parent Society meetings are Thursday, November 20 at the school and we welcome all JCS parents who would like to attend.

The School Council meeting begins at 7:00 pm in the upper hub outside the main office.
The Parent Society meeting begins after the completion of the School Council agenda.

Photo Retakes

Photo retakes are on November 27 at JCS in the conference room from 9:00am-3:30pm. We will call students down to the main office by grade and alphabet during the day for photos if they require photos or haven’t had their photos taken yet. To order photos, please follow the directions on the back of the ID card.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences will be hosted online Friday, November 28 from 8:30-2:00pm. The link to book conferences will be emailed on Friday November 21 at 9:00 am and close on Thursday November 27 at 1:00 pm. Conference bookings will be 10 minutes in length. If parents are unavailable during the scheduled conferences, please reach out to teachers to schedule an alternative time to meet.

January Calendar Update

The last day of regularly scheduled classes for January 2026 is Friday January 23, 2026. Classes will resume for the first day of Semester 2 on Wednesday January 28, 2026. More details for January 26 and 27, 2026 will be provided when available.

Multi-Faith Prayer Room

The JCS Multi-Faith Prayer Room is one way we support the diverse needs of our student community. The JCS Multi-Faith Prayer Room is a quiet, respectful space for students to engage in prayer, meditation, or reflection according to their faith traditions.  In order for students to access the prayer room located within the Learning Commons on the third floor (LC3), students and their parents are required to complete the Multi-Faith Prayer Room Consent and Usage Agreement Form. This form is available in the main office or the Student Success Centre (SSC).

The establishment and use of the JCS prayer room aligns with CBE Administrative Regulations 3067 – Religion in Education.

Student Success Centre

Upcoming Post Secondary Presentations and Events

The Out of Province Post Secondary Fair will take place in the Upper Hub outside the Main Office on Wednesday November 19, from 9:00 – 10:30am. This opportunity will allow your student to ask institutions questions regarding admission requirements for specific programs.

Please remind your students to check the JCS Student Success Centre D2L page for answers to most of the commonly asked questions about post-secondary or scholarship information.
