Time: 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Location: Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School (19480 45 Street SE)
Cost: Free!

Parents are asked to register one slot per person attending. For more information and to register, please visit: JCS Parent Council: Photography Night. Don’t miss out as spaces are limited!

Culture Day

Culture Day is back on April 9 and students have been working hard making booths and preparing activities to help celebrate the many cultures of the students and staff at JCS. The highlight of the day is always the fashion show and the performances. We are currently looking for students or groups who would like to perform a traditional dance (Mexican Folk, Irish, Bhangra, etc.) or sing a song or showcase another special aspect of their culture during the school assembly. If your student is interested, please email Ms. Neisz or have your student see her in room 2504.

Continued Support of our Community

With heavy hearts, we express our sincerest sympathies for any family directly or indirectly impacted by the traumatic loss experienced in our community during the last week.  Families struggling during these times are encouraged to reach out for support.  Community Mental Health Supports are available to families, and additional resources have been placed on the Health & Well-Being page of the JCS Website for assistance.

Graduation 2026

The Seven Weeks to Graduation 2026 message has been posted to the JCS Graduation page on the JCS Website. Yes, that means there are only SEVEN WEEKS to Graduation 2026.

Reminder to our families who have not yet paid their graduation ceremony fees. These fees are essential to run the JCS Graduation 2026 Ceremony.  Students who have not paid may be ineligible to participate in the graduation ceremony and will be unable to purchase banquet tickets. For more information, please visit the JCS Graduation Ceremony Webpage

We have sold over 975 graduation banquet tickets!  Graduation banquet tickets are available for purchase until April 5 at a cost of $130 per seat.  Please note that all school fees need to be paid before the optional banquet tickets fee can be purchased.  Please allow one business day for fee payments to be processed before the banquet ticket sales option appear in your PowerSchool account.  For more information please visit the JCS Graduation Banquet Webpage.

Diploma Exam Accommodation

Students scheduled to write a diploma exam in June who require the use of a cell phone for medical reasons (e.g., diabetes management) must submit a Unique Accommodations application to Alberta Education. Please contact Mr. Brown or Ms. Lloyd for additional information.

Returning Grade 12 Applications

Grade 12 students who are unable to Graduate with a High School Diploma or obtain a Certificate of Completion by the end of the 2025-26 School Year are welcome to apply to return for an additional year of high school. Students need to speak with their student advisors and assistant principals to discuss the application process.
